Kevin Jellison has been a regular performer in a variety of professional projects ranging from blues, pop, rock, hard rock, jazz, country, and more. He has been a long-time collaborator with recording artist Bob Gentry (Blue Elan Records) as a guitarist, co-writer, and arranger, and has performed with Gentry as an opening act for Berlin, The Pretenders, Pat Benatar, The Bangles, Heart, Ringo Starr, and many more.
Kevin’s focus shifted toward classical guitar in 2008, and he pursued studies at Irvine Valley College and UCI under world-renowned classical guitar and renaissance/baroque lute specialist, John Schneiderman, where he earned a BM and MFA in classical guitar performance with a minor specialty in Russian Seven-String guitar. During his years at UCI, he performed multiple times at the Irvine Barclay Theatre and the Russian Guitar Festival (IARGUS) in Iowa City.
Kevin continues to be a regular performer in many genres, and has served as the director of Guitar Studies at Irvine Valley College since 2015, where he is focused on building a robust guitar program and seeks to share his own passion for the instrument in all of its forms. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Music History and Music Theory (MHMT) at UCI.
