About IVC

Welcome to Irvine Valley College!

President's Welcome

Welcome to Irvine Valley College (IVC), an institution that is dedicated to student success and to a tradition of providing high quality, accessible, and affordable education for all.   As you browse our website, I invite you to explore and experience the many ways in which IVC promotes individual development and improves the overall quality of life in southern California.

Since 1979, IVC has served as a leading community college choice.  We serve students looking to enhance their career skills, obtain a degree or certificate, or improve basic skills.  IVC’s transfer rate is #1 in Orange County and #3 among all California Community Colleges.  We are proud to boast about our students’ successful transfers to the California State University (CSU) or University of California (UC) system, as well as a host of other prestigious campuses across the nation.  For years, transfer data has been skewed in favor of larger community colleges because the most common methodology used to measure students transferring to a four-year institution was sheer volume of annual transfers.  I invite you to learn more about transfer rates at http://www.ivc.edu/transfer/

The campus is ever evolving.  In addition to providing students a convenient location, small class size, an active campus life, a reputation for academic excellence, a diverse student body, and scores of other programs and services, over the next five years an ambitious $100 million building program will transform the entire campus.  I am sure you have noticed the new $32 million state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center and the $19 million Business Sciences and Innovation Center scheduled to open in 2008.  These exciting additions will allow IVC to continue to provide you with the finest education possible at one of Orange County’s most innovative colleges.

Whether you plan to earn an associate degree, prepare for university transfer, find a career, or pursue learning for personal improvement, we will help you succeed.   Whatever you want to achieve, we are dedicated to helping you get there.

Sincerely,

Glenn R. Roquemore
