IVC Hosts Orange County Philippine Independence Day Celebration

IVC hosted Orange County’s Philippine Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, June 17, commemorating the declaration of Philippine Independence from Spain in 1898. The event was organized by Filipino Influential Leaders and Mentors (FILAM), Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County (FACCOC), Filipino-American Lawyers of Orange County (FLOC), and IVC’s Equitable Learning Experience Valuing Achievement, Transfer and Empowering Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (ELEVATE AAPI).

Born for the Badge: OC Native Laser-focused on Law Enforcement Future

When it comes to the county he has always called home, Mateo Sanchez is proud to be Orange through and through. But he always envisioned his future in a shade of blue.

“I wanted to go into law enforcement at a very young age,” reflects the Irvine Valley College student. “I knew after high school that was what I wanted to do.”
