Title IV funds are awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will attend school for the entire enrollment period or semester.
Dropping units, withdrawing from all classes, or not attending classes can result in funds needing to be returned to the school. This could create an overpayment, which will suspend any future financial aid disbursements. Before dropping units, please check with the Financial Aid Office to determine any impact on your eligibility.

Yes, students will continue to be paid for their regularly scheduled working hours during the closure, up to the amount of the Federal Work Study award.
Using students’ 2020-21 FAFSA and CADAA applications, the Financial Aid Office reviewed student eligibility to automatically award IVC students enrolled during the Spring 2021 semester. All students with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of 0 - 5711 automatically received a HEERF grant totaling $1000 in Spring 2021. Those with an EFC of 5712-10000 were automatically awarded a HEERF grant totaling $500 in Spring 2021
If you are an IVC student currently enrolled in an active semester, in need of financial assistance to help relieve the pressures caused by the COVID-19 outbreak, and have not already been awarded a HEERF grant, you may complete an Emergency Fund Application.
Students who withdraw from all their classes with an excused withdrawal (EW) due to COVID-19 will not owe the school or federal government. If a class is dropped with an EW that is not due to COVID-19, the student may owe funds back to the school or federal government.
No. An excused withdrawal due to COVID-19 will not have an adverse effect on a student’s satisfactory academic progress. This includes students on Warning, Probation or Monitor status.
