We want to share with you important information regarding international students that you may have seen in recent news reports. This afternoon, the Trump administration rescinded new proposed rules that would have prohibited international students from attending colleges in the United States if only online courses were being offered.
We are pleased to report that the government has agreed to rescind the policy published on July 6 regarding international student online learning and the associated FAQ released July 7, as well as rescind any implementation. The government has further agreed to return to the status quo of the previous March 9 guidance that had been put into place amid the coronavirus pandemic which permits F-1 visa international student enrollment in online courses.
This ruling will give our current IVC F-1 visa international students the flexibility to take all their classes online and remain legally in the country with their student visa. We expect there to be a formal statement or order from the court with the exact language of the agreement and outcome. IVC’s International Student Program is carefully reviewing all the new policy guidance and will continue to provide us more information as it becomes available.
This is great news for our students!
Together, we are #IVCStrong.
