I’d like to welcome you back from Spring Break and to the first day of remote instruction at IVC. While Spring Break this year didn’t take place under ideal circumstances, we need to continue to forge ahead and accept that this is merely a moment in time for us. It will not be a permanent new way of life. While I expect it may take some time for us to work through some of the unknown issues that go along with transitioning to remote instruction, I appreciate everyone’s willingness to accept and embrace the change as it comes.
If you’re experiencing any difficulties with Canvas or technology in general, please reach out to our Technology Services team here. You can also call 1-844-600-4954 for Canvas Support. Remember, the entire IVC campus is closed to students and non-essential personnel. If you need assistance with student support services, see a list of department contacts here.
Over the weekend, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Orange County rose to 95. Thirty-five of those cases are community-acquired, meaning it is spreading to people who have not traveled recently or who are caring for a person with a confirmed case. I urge you to please listen to the guidance of Governor Newsom imploring us all to stay home except to go out for necessities such as food and medicine. The health of you and those around you depends upon us each taking personal responsibility for our actions. No one knows how this virus will affect us if we do catch it, and so it is wise to err on the side of caution.
I know this is a drastically new environment we all find ourselves in, but we can get through it TOGETHER!
We are IVC!
