Transfer Checklist

1. Visit the Transfer Center to learn about resources for transfer students.
2. Visit at least three different colleges that offer your major.
3. Schedule an appointment with an IVC counselor at least once during each semester.
4. Forward transcripts from all colleges previously attended to the Office of Admissions and Records for evaluation.
5. Complete transferable math and writing classes early!
6. Complete transferable (articulated) coursework in your major.
7. Apply for IGETC and CSU certification in the Office of Admissions the semester prior to transfer to ensure that you have satisfied all requirements.
8. Establish a positive relationship with at least two IVC instructors.
9. Check application deadlines (colleges have different application dates).
10. Apply for financial aid and housing early.
11. Apply to more than one campus.
12. Take advantage of all transfer services and activities.
