What Services are Free . . . When You Pay a Health Fee?
The health fee you pay at the time of registration is a state mandated fee.
The only waivers are for those students who are members of a religious organization which relies solely on prayer for purposes of healing.
Services are provided only to current students who have paid the health fee and are currently attending classes.
The Health and Wellness staff consists of registered nurses, physicians, a supervising psychologist, psychological interns and health office assistants each of whom strives to meet your medical and psychological needs and make your visit to the Center a positive one. All information remains absolutely confidential. For ANY medical concern, see us first…if we can't help, we will direct you to a resource that can. Come and check us out!
Some of the services we provide to you at no charge include:
- Birth control information
- Blood pressure testing
- First aid
- Hearing screening
- Illness evaluation
- Insurance plans (available from outside companies for purchase)
- Over-the-counter medications
- Stress reduction information
- Tetanus booster
- Tuberculosis skin tests
- Vision screening
Some additional services we provide for a nominal charge are:
- Blood tests (cholesterol, etc.)
- Flu shots (Fall semester only)
- Pap smears
- Pregnancy testing
- Sexually transmitted disease testing
(We Do Not do HIV testing, but can refer you for free HIV testing)
Our staff physician can be seen (by appointment) for such things as:
- Breast exams
- Gastro-intestinal problems
- Gynecological exams
- Orthopedic problems
- Skin problems
- Upper respiratory infections
