Instructions for 2013 - 2014 Application 

DEADLINE: February 21, 2014

 

GENERAL GUIDELINES 

  • Please complete the application form from the college website HERE​​. Fill in the required information and submit by 11:59 p.m. (PST), Friday, February 21, 2014.
  • HANDWRITTEN APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
  • Fill in every space. If a question does not apply to you write “Not Applicable" or “n/a".
  • Decide whether you will be a continuing or transferring student as explained below.
  • An ASIVC/ASG activity card must be purchased for ASIVC scholarship consideration.
 

HOW WE EVALUATE SCHOLARSHIPS 

  • The General Scholarship Committee is comprised of 30 individuals including faculty, staff, administrators, students, and community volunteers. The committee reviews the application process and establishes policies and procedures for the program.
  • General Scholarship applications are evaluated on the application form, the criteria and funds available.
  • Unfortunately, no student is guaranteed a scholarship in this process, as we have many more applicants than scholarships available.
 

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Students in violation of the South Orange County Community College District Code of Conduct, as determined by the IVC Dean of Students, will not be eligible for IVC scholarships. Click Here for IVC's Code of Conduct. 
 

RECEIVING YOUR AWARD

At the end of April, you will receive a letter informing you if you have been selected to receive a scholarship.

We invite all our IVC scholarship winners to attend a special scholarship continental breakfast/ceremony in their honor. If you receive a letter informing you that you have been selected to receive an IVC Scholarship, we strongly encourage you to attend the scholarship ceremony, as this is an opportunity for you to celebrate your success with your fellow scholarship winners, as well as with faculty, staff, donors, and the IVC community, who all want to be on hand to honor you. 

We advise you to mark your calendar now for the event on Friday, May 16, which begins at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast and is followed by the ceremony program at 9 a.m. 

After the awards program, you will receive a letter explaining the steps for receiving your scholarship(s). These steps have been abbreviated below:

1. Send a thank-you letter to your donor. Thank you notes are supplied when you receive your award certificate.

2. Meet the spring semester unit and GPA requirements, as stated in the Continuing/Transferring section. If transferring, provide documentation of acceptance. The IVC Financial Aid Office will verify this information, and disbursements will be mailed to the transfer institution. OSHER scholarships are not eligible for transfer to four year institutions.

Applicant agrees to allow Scholarship Information to be shared with third party donors.

Applicant agrees to have name posted in scholarship program.

If you change your address after submitting you scholarship application, you must notify the Admissions and Records Office and the Financial Aid Office
