Counseling services at Irvine Valley College exist to help students with their academic, career, and personal concerns. The counseling faculty help students clarify their needs, make decisions, set goals, and deal effectively with personal obstacles. The relationship between student and counselor is confidential.
The following are some of the services available to students:
Academic Planning:
Program planning, selecting a major, evaluating transcripts, exploring transfer options and requirements, developing study skills, time-management, overcoming test anxiety and petitioning for certificates and degrees and more.
Career Exploration:

Personal Counseling:
Personal counseling includes help with relationship problems, interpersonal communication, self-awareness, stress management, behavior change, and referrals to on-campus and off-campus resources. Students may also receive psychological services in the Health and Wellness Center.
