Additional Flex Activities
Study Circles
(Flex credit: 1 hour per meeting)
The goal of interest-generated study circles is not to master a text
or to learn a lot of facts, but rather to deepen understanding of a given
subject. Study circles may include cooperative learning groups, a book
club, an Internet users group, or a specific software-users group. If
you have three or more participants, send their names, your topic and
your meeting time to the Staff Development Office. If you need help organizing
a circle, please call or e-mail
the Staff Development Office (x5293) for more information.
Conference/Workshop Participation
Staff and Faculty can earn Flex credit, and receive reimbursement for some
expenses, for participation in Conferences or other profession-related activities.
See the "Sources of Professional Development Funds" below, as
well as the Staff Development Funding Application Form in the Appendix.
