The Irvine Valley College Police Department is a full service law enforcement agency. The Department is staffed by sworn professional Peace Officers and Communications Dispatchers who have been trained and certified in accordance with the standards established by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.). IVCPD police officers have the same authority as municipal and county law enforcement officers, including the powers of arrest.
IVCPD is a‘community-oriented’ law enforcement agency dedicated to serving the Irvine Valley College community. The department provides police services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are responsible for patrolling campus grounds and facilities, taking crime and incident reports, conducting criminal investigations, enforcing traffic and parking regulations, and providing a safe environment for our students, staff and guests.
We have a modern Communications Center equipped with state-of-the-art telephone and radio communications equipment. Our dispatchers have the ability to receive and dispatch service calls, and to communicate with other public safety agencies throughout the county, including the Orange County Fire Authority.
