Parking on campus is by permit only in designated spaces. A valid student permit or daily permit is required to park in student parking spaces. A valid staff permit is required to park in staff parking spaces. A valid permit is required on campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Green curbed (timed) or posted timed parking spaces do not require a permit, but the vehicle is subject to the time limitation of the marked space. Students are reminded not to park in spaces marked for STAFF. Also, students enrolled in online/distance learning courses are still required to display a valid parking permit while visiting the campus for exams or facility use. Ultimately it is your responsibility to park legally.
There are parking spaces for persons with disabilities in each parking lot. A valid student, staff, or daily parking permit is required, in addition to the California Disabled Placard, to park in designated disabled persons spaces.
Student Parking Permits
Don't stand in line, buy online! Student parking permits purchased online will be mailed directly to students at the address provided during the order process. You may purchase a permit online through MySite by selecting the Parking Permit tab on the left navigation menu in MySite. Remember to print your temporary parking permit offered at the end of purchase and place it on your dashboard until your permit is delivered. Be sure to read the entire flyer that comes with the permit and to properly remove the permit from the flyer. Annual and semester IVC Parking Permits are no longer sold on campus. If assistance is needed with purchasing a permit online, then visit the CP100 Building (Campus Police) on campus.
Parking permits must be displayed in the lower corner of the driver's side windshield. These permits are static cling permits which do not use adhesive and are able to be removed and reapplied. These permits do not require permit hangers. Semester/annual student and staff permits are valid at IVC, ATEP, and Saddleback College in the appropriate parking spaces for the type of permit. Daily permits are only valid for the campus at which they were purchased..
Parking permits are also available for motorcycles. Motorcycle parking is available in Lots # 2, #8, and #10. Motorcycle permits are only valid in posted motorcycle parking areas. The permit must be properly displayed on the left front fork. Motorcycle permits cannot be purchased online and must be purchased at the CP100 Building (Campus Police).
The SOCCCD Board of Trustees determines the cost of parking permits. The IVC Annual permit valid for the Fall-Spring-Summer academic year is $80. The IVC Semester permit is $40 for fall or spring, and $25 for the summer session. Motorcycle permits: Annual-$40, Semester-$20, Summer-$10. Board of Governor (BOG) waivers are available from financial aid for assistance in purchasing a parking permit. Permit prices are subject to change upon Board of Trustee approval or changes in California Education Code.
Refunds on parking permits will be given when a class is canceled within 30 days due to insufficient enrollment and the student is not attending any other classes on campus during the semester, or if the student officially withdraws from all of their on-campus classes during the first two weeks of a regular term, or during the first week of eight week terms. The Student Parking Decal must be turned in to the Irvine Valley College Police Department within the first four weeks of the semester, or within the first two weeks of an eight week term if the student only enrolled in an eight week term within a regular semester or summer session.
Lost or Stolen Permits
You are responsible for your parking permit. If you lose your permit you will need to purchase a new permit. If your permit has been stolen, you must report it to Campus Police. A stolen permit may be replaced if the request is accompanied with a police report from the jurisdiction in which the theft occurred.
Parking citations are issued for violations of the District's Traffic and Parking Regulations under the authority of the California Vehicle Code, section 21113(a). All other California Vehicle Code (CVC) sections are enforced on campus. Penalties range from $38.00 to $250.00, depending on the type of violation. An administrative review process is available under CVC 40215.
