Accessibility

Irvine Valley College strives to create an inclusive environment that offers accommodation services for students as well as faculty, staff and visitors to the college. We seek to meet the accessibility goals of state and federal laws and regulatory agencies including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the ADA Amendments Act of 2008, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended) , and California Code of Regulations Title 5: Nondiscrimination.

Student Accommodations

IVC’s Disabled Students Programs & Services (DSPS) department provides support services, academic adjustments, and auxiliary aids to students with a disability, allowing them to fully participate and benefit from an equitable college experience. For students who do not wish to register with DSPS, please submit your contact information to the 504 Accommodation Request Form.

Campus Events

If you are an IVC employee requesting an accommodation for a campus event for students, please complete the Campus Event Accommodation Request Form.

Community Event

If you are attending a community event hosted by IVC, please complete the Community Event Accommodation Request Form.

Reporting Barriers

Website:  The IVC website adheres to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0 Level AA). To monitor its progress with this effort, the IVC web and content team uses various compliance software and tools to assure the platform is accessible, while the design team uses standard accessibility tools and checkers, including those provided by Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office, to assure that documents are accessible.
