About Marie De La Palme
Marie de la Palme was a principal dancer in NYC for Alvin Ailey III, Trisler Danscompany, Keith Lee Ballets, Omega Dance. She choreographed for Jacques d’Amboise’s National Dance Institute, later working on industrials and musicals in Orange County and Las Vegas before focusing on concert choreography for which she received three Horton Award nominations.
Ms. de la Palme's works have been presented at Dance Kaleidoscope, LADI, the American Choreographers Awards, and more recently at CELEBRATE DANCE 2008 and Cal State University Long Beach. She is a three-time finalist at the Dance Under the Stars choreography competition, presenting Le Coeur Illuminé (Grand Prize 2002,) Immortal Beloved (Virginia Waring Award for Best Duet), The Door (2005), and The Cage (Engagement Award 2006.) She was a featured choreographer for McCallum Institute's Educational Program in 2005 and 2007.
Ms. de la Palme collaborated with the Shinnyo-en Buddhist order to create large-scale events, including the Festival of Joy in Japan, the Saito Homa Peace Ceremony in Yorba Linda and a Taiko concert at Royce Hall. Her choreography was recently featured at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion for the KCET Annual Holiday Celebration 2008.
After teaching at the Orange County High School for the Arts, Huntington Academy of Dance, De Fore Dance Center, OCC and Focus Dance Center she is now full time faculty at Irvine Valley college where she teaches Ballet, Dance History and directs the Performing Dance Ensemble.
