Audition: First Friday of every semester (2:00pm - 4:00pm in PE160)
The Performing Dance Ensemble is for intermediate and advanced dancers who are serious about performing. Students learn a varied and challenging repertoire that stretches them technically and artistically. They participate in the creation of new works and have the chance to grow in the interpretation and execution of the repertoire by performing them repeatedly over time.
Students also work on their resume, explore work opportunities in the area, and learn about health issues relative to performing. Invited professionals/ guest choreographers participate in the program thereby sharing their dance experiences in all aspects of the dance profession.
DNCE170 rehearsal hours: Fridays 2:00pm - 6:00pm; other rehearsal times include Sundays TBA depending on casting.
Participation by audition on the first Friday of the semester:
2:00-4:00pm in PE 160 (Note: Rehearsal times vary depending on casting)

Friday, April 23, 2009 Noon & 7:30pm A one-hour lecture/presentation in the new Irvine Valley College Performing Arts Center, PERSPECTIVES explores how choreographers communicate emotion, meaning and message.
Artistic director Marie de la Palme is passionate about helping audiences and student choreographers understand how a dance work communicates its message through specific artistic choices.

2.) Visit to Your School: Choreography Analysis

We can bring to your students a special presentation of a piece. We then follow with a short lecture on choreography components and an anlysis of the specific artistic choises of the dance examined.
