The mission of the department is to provide a high quality comprehensive Dance Program dedicated to excellence and committed to meeting the current and future learning needs of our diverse community.

The program serves students seeking to transfer, enhance career skills, obtain a degree or certificate, or improve skills as a lifelong learner. Our professional instructors are at the forefront of their respective fields providing curriculum in a variety of traditional and innovative methods.

The IVC Dance Department currently offers an Associate of Art in Dance (AA Degree) and a Certificate in Dance. Courses branch into Performance, Dance Technique, Movement Science/Body Therapies, and Theory areas. We are in the progress of expanding the Certificate programs into specialties that include a focus in Commercial Dance and Musical Theater.
