Kate Clark joined Irvine Valley College in Fall 1989. At present, she is serving as the college Articulation Officer as well its chair of General Education Committee and is teaching in the English Department. She is returning full-time to her faculty position at IVC after serving four years as an officer of the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges, based in Sacramento. There she represented the academic and professional concerns of the 58,000 faculty of California's 109 Community Colleges.
Prior to joining Irvine Valley College, Kate was the Writing Director for the Humanities Core Course and Subject A at UC Irvine; most recently before that, she directed the freshman writing program at the University of Michigan. She has taught pre-school through graduate students and enjoys most her work with community college students.
Kate enjoys hiking in the Sierras, reading, and playing with her granddaughter.
