Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) Accepts IVC’s
2008 Accreditation Progress Report
IRVINE, CA— Irvine Valley College (IVC) was informed on February 4, 2009 that the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) accepted the 2008 Accreditation Progress Report.
"I believe I speak for everyone at IVC in saying how pleased we are with the outcome of the decision by the ACCJC,” said Irvine Valley College President Glenn Roquemore.
In order to meet the ACCJC directive, regarding the implementation of good practice in decision-making, the College, the Board, and the District formed the 2008 Accreditation Progress Report Focus Group. The Focus Group included representatives of the College community, including Board President Donald P. Wagner, Deputy Chancellor Gary Poertner, College President Glenn Roquemore, Vice President of Instruction Craig Justice, Vice President of Student Services Gwen Plano, Accreditation faculty co-chairs, Wendy Gabriella, President of IVC Academic Senate and Jerry Rudmann, representatives from the Academic Senate, Classified Senate, and the Associated Students of Irvine Valley College.
President Roquemore added, “I would like to thank all members of the Accreditation Focus Group for their valuable time and effort that has led to this wonderful outcome. I’d like to take this moment to appreciate how the college community pulled together in this endeavor.”
South Orange County Community College District Chancellor Dr. Raghu P. Mathur said, “I congratulate Irvine Valley College for this positive outcome which is recognition of faculty, staff, and trustees all working together to address pertinent issues for the good of students, with the utmost respect for each other’s areas of responsibilities. We also greatly appreciate all the hard work, leadership, and expertise of the Commission during the Accreditation process.”
