Irvine Valley College Student Selected to National Association Regional Intercollegiate Band     

     Irvine, CA – Irvine Valley College student Nicholas Hartmann, Clarinet was recently selected to the College Band Directors National Association Regional Intercollegiate Band.  The Intercollegiate Band will rehearse and perform this coming March as a part of the CBDNA Western & Northwestern Divisions Bi-Annual Regional Conference at the University of Nevada, Reno.  The conductor of the 2008 Intercollegiate Band is Dr. William Wakefield, Director of Bands at the University of Oklahoma and CBDNA National President.
This is the tenth consecutive year that IVC has placed a student in either the Regional or National CBDNA Intercollegiate Bands.

     Hartmann is a 2005 Graduate of Aliso Niguel HS and is a Music Major at IVC.  Hartmann also performed in the 2006 Regional and 2007 National CBDNA Intercollegiate Bands.  He is principal clarinet in both the IVC Orchestra and IVC Wind Symphony and a founding member of the Ashley Johnson Trio.
