Irvine Valley offers Online Fundamentals of PC Security
Irvine, CA – Worried about protecting your identity or the contents on your home computer, IVC is now offering “The Fundamentals of Computer Security” designed for the home user. This class offers users training on the best methods to secure a home computer. This is an online course and no class meetings will be held. All lecture/lab work can be done from home. Assignments are multi-level depending upon an individual’s computer knowledge and ability. This two unit online class will be offered beginning March 24 through May 22. The class will teach students how to protect their computers from attacks. It will also cover:
- Preventing Identity Theft
- Building Firewalls
- Canning Spam
- Securing Windows and Internet Explorer
- Keeping Your Kids Safe Online
- Going Wireless
