Grainger Donates $5,000 to IVC
April 19, 2007
A generous $5,000 gift from Grainger will be used to provide student scholarships at Irvine Valley College. Grainger is a local supplier of facilities maintenance products with five locations in Orange County, including Irvine and has served businesses throughout Southern California for more than 70 years.
"We are very proud to support Irvine Valley College through these scholarships," said Eric Nowlin, regional branch services vice president, Grainger. "Grainger has a long tradition of giving back to the communities in which we operate and we believe that one of the best ways to do that is to invest in its people."
“In making this donation, Grainger is supporting our college’s electronic technology program with two, $1,000 student scholarships and one $500 faculty grant in 2007 and again in 2008,” said Dr. Glenn Roquemore, president of Irvine Valley College. “We are grateful for this generous donation, and we place great value in our relationship with Grainger.”
Last year, the Irvine Valley College Foundation awarded more than $210,000 in scholarships. Students received scholarships for excellence in academics, distinguished community service and financial need.
