"Play On!"

Irvine Valley College Department of Theatre presents "Play On!" a comedy by Rick Abbot, directed by Patric Taylor. The spring production opens March 30 and runs through April 7, 2007, Thursday, Friday, Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday performances at 2 p.m.

"Play On!" is the story of a theatre group trying desperately to put on a play with all kinds of interference from it's haughty authoress who keeps revising the script until opening night. What happens along the way builds to a madcap climax.  If there is anything an actor dreads, it's being in a show where everything goes wrong.  Actors flub lines, tech cues are off, costumes malfunction. And, let's face it -- the script isn't that great either.

All that horror is dramatized in Rick Abbot's comedy "Play On!" It tells the tale of a cast troubled by a terrible mystery script, a playwright who keeps changing that script, tensions between actors, tech problems and just a few days until opening night.  Will they make it? And even if they do, will it be terrible?
