Spring music concerts

The Irvine Valley College Department of Music presents the California Concert Artists, Professional Artists in Residence in the 3rd Annual Meet the Composers Concert on Friday, April 7, at 8 p.m. at Chapman University Salmon Hall, located inside Bertea Hall. Tickets are $10 general admission, $5 ages 6-17, free 5 and under.
The music of Brian DeBoer, Fed Katz, Ron Levy, Gary Matsuura, Jack Prather, Gerry Schroeder, will be performed, including the world premiere performance Kris Berry’s “Maritime Madrigal.” The concert will feature a blend of classical and jazz music. Each composer will introduce his composition and discuss his inspiration and creative process. This concert funded in part through Meet the Composer’s Creative Connections.
The California Concert Artists will present an additional Meet the Composers Concert in conjunction with the City of Mission Viejo, on Saturday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Mission Viejo City Hall, in the Saddleback Room, 200 Civic Center, Mission Viejo. Admission is free.
