IVC Theatre Presents "Slave Girl"

The college will present "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl"  as part of Black History Month in Feb.  The one-actor play portrays an ex-slave confined in an attic closet for seven years during her struggle for freedom. Jasmine Monroe tells the true story of Harriet Jacobs’ gripping account of escaping slavery and sexual exploitation while hiding in New York City in 1842. She brings to life the poignant and relevant story of one woman’s efforts to prevail despite an oppressive culture. Irvine Valley College Forum Theatre, 5500 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine.
