Music faculty hit new notes

Music professor Dr. Daniel Luzko had his original composition Study for Electronic Music broadcast nationwide in Germany on Radio WDR3. The Dec. broadcast was part of a program that features electronic music composers from around the world.
Luzko, who is from Paraguay, has had other compositions performed throughout South American and Europe. He is currently on sabbatical in Europe and Asia.
Irvine Valley music instructor Keatly Haldeman saw the premiere of a composition he wrote for Going Hollywood, a new reality television series that follows young interns trying to make it in show business. Keatly composed the show’s theme song, based on Kool and the Gang’s Hollywood Swingin.’ The series premiered Dec. 7 on The Learning Channel at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., with rebroadcasts at midnight and 1 a.m.
Keatly, who teaches “Computer Applications in Music,” also composed the theme song for Venus & Serena: For Real, on the ABC Family Channel. His is a Stanford graduate and founder of Invaudio, a professional audio production company and record label, which provides custom music compositions to the entertainment industry.
