May 24, 2005
The office of Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (E.O.P.S.) offers a “Summer Bridge” program to help low-income high school seniors make a smooth transition to college. Classes begin July 5 and July 25. The program gives students an opportunity to learn college survival skills, time management and study techniques, and provides information on associate degree and transfer requirements. Students may choose one or both of the following classes:
Applied Psychology 1 (ticket #61400). Class meets July 5–July 22, Monday–Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Applied Psychology 101 (ticket #61405). Class meets July 25-September 12, Monday–Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Regardless of income, all entering freshmen may take “Academic Planning” (ticket #60485) and “Academic Skills and College Success” (ticket #60515) to prepare for college. College readiness courses are transferable to UC or CSU and are key to helping first-year students adapt. For more information, call (949) 451-5100, or go to www.ivc.edu.
