College Receives $40K Technology Grant
Irvine Valley received a $40,000 donation of software and machines from MecSoft Corporation of Irvine in February to train students in computer-based mold-making, tool-and-die making, prototyping, design, and engineering applications. The software, which is and an advanced program used by industry professionals, provides state-of-the-art Windows-based CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) software for use in the automotive, aerospace and general machining industries. The software grant will allow students to learn advanced machining and design principles in a virtual environment, and quickly develop workable prototypes.
