New personnel appointments

Karima Benremouga has been appointed dean of humanities and fine arts of Irvine Valley College. Previously,
Benremouga served as director of the language acquisition center of the University of Houston. She earned a bachelor’s
degree from the University of Algiers, Algeria, and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Kansas.
Bob Jacobsen is the new interim dean of students, guidance and counseling at Irvine Valley College. Previously, Jacobsen served as dean of counseling services and special programs at Saddleback College. He has a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate from Fresno State University.
Keith Shackleford has been appointed dean of health sciences, physical education and athletics of Irvine Valley College. Prior to his appointment, Shackleford served as director of athletics, recreation and physical education at Soka University in Aliso Viejo. He earned a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach and a law degree from the University of Arizona.
Wayne Ward has been hired as director of facilities and maintenance at Irvine Valley College. Ward previously served as district manager for Anaheim Resort. He has an associate’s degree from Rancho Santiago College, a bachelor’s from the University of Phoenix, and a master’s degree from Chapman University.
Gwendolyn Vendley was named vice-president of student services at Irvine Valley College. Previously, Vendley was the dean of student services, guidance and counseling, and has also served as interim vice-president of student services. She has a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University, a master’s degree from both Iona College and the Maryknoll Seminary at the University of the State of New York, and a doctorate from Columbia University.
