Irvine Valley College presents “Rumors,” March 11-April 3, in the Forum Theater. Neil Simon’s comedy is a fast-moving, door-slamming farce about a night of lies, deception and other wrongdoing, when the Deputy Mayor of New York is shot and his guests confuse fact with fiction in a cover up during his 10th wedding anniversary.
Tickets are $10 for students and seniors, $11 for general admission. Show times are Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. The box office is open Wednesdays, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.; and Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the box office or by calling (949) 451-5333. The Irvine Valley College Forum Theatre is located in the B-300 Building at 5500 Irvine Center Dr., Irvine.
Simon is one of America's most popular playwrights. He has written over two dozen plays and has had more hits in the theater than any other American playwright. He has won four Tony Awards, Emmys, a Screen Writers Guild Award and a Pulitzer Prize. His plays include "The Odd Couple” (1965), “Plaza Suite” (1968), "The Out of Towners" (1970), and “The Goodbye Girl” (1993). “Rumors” premiered in San Francisco in 1988 and opened on Broadway later that year.
