IVC Womens Chorus Seeking New Members
The Irvine Valley College Music Department has openings for voices in its newly formed Womens Chorus. Students in the program will study techniques of choral singing and performance of choral literature for womens voices from the 16th century to the present.
A treble voice choir is an increasingly popular trend in music, said Dr. Janice Wyma, who will be directing the chorus. Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 a.m., beginning August 26, 2003. Students should be enrolled in MUS 37, ticket #64620. This is a for-credit course and will include public performances. Rehearsals are schedueled at midday to coordinate with lunch hours or with school schedules for mothers. It is an unique opportunity for local singers to enrich their musical knowledge and expand their vocal technique with an internationally acclaimed conductor. On site registration begins August 4, 2003. For more information contact Dr. Wyma at (949) 451-5205.
