VETERANS DAY OBSERVANCE HONORS
AMERICA’S HEROES

IRVINE, CA—The public is invited to join Irvine Valley College as it hosts a Veterans Day ceremony on Wednesday, November 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Student Services Center Quad.

The observance will include a Marine Corps Reserve color guard, guest speakers featuring local veterans, a band and a musical chorus. Members of veterans’ organizations throughout Orange County are expected to attend. The ceremony will also include a forum for vets, the playing of Taps and a presentation of wreaths.

Veterans throughout the county are invited to attend, and participants are encouraged to wear their uniforms and to contribute memorabilia for public display at the event. Veterans will have the opportunity to address the ceremony. Food will be provided to the veterans who attend, and the classic rock and blues band, Hot Pursuit, will perform.

“This is the first time a ceremony of this scale has been held at IVC,” said Sam Castrejon,” a former Marine and organizer of the event. “This is the day we reserve each year to remember with dignity and reverence America’s veterans, and we are fortunate to able to provide an opportunity for the public to enjoy and take part in the comradeship of our veterans and like-minded individuals.”
