Tree Dedication Ceremony to Commemorate 9/11 at Irvine Valley
IRVINE, CA - The community is invited to attend a brief, solemn ceremony at Irvine Valley College to commemorate the first anniversary of the deadly terrorist attacks on America, beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2002. The ceremony of remembrance will include a patriotic performance by the IVC Chorale, inspirational remarks by invited guests, and the dedication of a tree in the memory of the lives lost. Local law enforcement will be represented by the Irvine Police Department and the Orange County Fire Department, Station #36. Assemblyman Bill Campbell will offer his remarks prior to the tree dedication, which will be followed by a moment of silence.
The 9/11 Commemoration Ceremony will take place in front of the IVC Student Services Center, and will conclude at 12:00 noon. More information about the ceremony is available by contacting the Irvine Valley College Foundation at (949) 451-5290.
