April 29, 2002 IRVINE, CAIrvine Valley College Interim President,
Dr. Glenn R. Roquemore, announced the appointment of William C.
Christiansen, III as the colleges new Director of the Irvine
Valley College Foundation effective March 20, 2002.
Mr. Christiansen brings a broad range of experience to Irvine Valley
as a skilled fundraiser and long-time political and legislative
professional. He joins IVC after serving eight years as the Executive
Director of the Republican Party of Orange County. Mr. Christiansen
has also served as the Interim Director of the Foundation since
January, 2002.
Bill comes to us with a rich background in political and
legislative affairs at the local, state, and national levels,
said Dr. Roquemore. His extensive experience in fundraising,
and his accomplishments during his tenure as Interim Director, make
him an excellent choice for the position. Were very pleased
to have him on board.
Since 1988, Mr. Christiansen has held key positions in both state
and local government. He has worked for former Los Angeles Mayor,
Richard Riordan, and former California State Senator, Newton R.
Russell. He has experience in budgeting and financial management,
fundraising, press and media relations, human resources, and governmental
affairs.
As Director of the Irvine Valley College Foundation, Mr. Christiansen
says he plans to enhance the financial welfare and image of Irvine
Valley College by leading the Foundation with sound management of
private fundraising and community relations activities. He adds
that his efforts are intended to augment and support the colleges
long-term development plans, fund raising, community outreach and
scholarship programs.
Mr. Christiansen is a California native who was born and raised
in San Diego. He is a graduate of the University of California,
Los Angeles where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science
and International Relations. He currently lives in Tustin.
