Library Card:
- Your I.V.C. or Saddleback Student Photo I.D. is required for all library transactions.
- You must be currently enrolled in classes for your library card to work.
- If you lose your I.D. and someone else uses it, you are responsible for materials checked out with your I.D.
- If you lose your I.D., report it to the library as soon as possible.

Material/Book Checkout: All current S.O.C.C.C.D. students may check out material. Kaplan students may also check out library materials.

Late Fine:
- Overdue items will incur a $5.00 fee for each late item.
- A hold will be placed on the records of any student with a library fine. The fine must be paid to register, add or drop classes, get grades, get transcripts, etc.

Community Library Users:
Members of the local community can pay $10 for six months of access to the IVC library. This card will also allow access to the Saddleback Library. Community card holders can check out 4 items at a time and use the library computers. |
Renewals:
- Books and CD-ROMs can be renewed once, by telephone, in person, or using the Self-Check machine.
- If another person has requested that particular item (by placing a hold) then the item may NOT be renewed.

Reserves:
Reserves are items given to the library by faculty for use by their students, such as sample exams, texts, etc. They are held behind the check-out desk. You must be an IVC student and have your IVC photo I.D. to use reserves. Most reserves can only be used in the library. There is a fee of $5.00 on late reserve items. |
Lost Materials:
Lost materials must be paid for by the person to whom they are checked out. As soon as a borrower realizes that a library item has been lost, he or she should contact the library.

Computer Commons:
- Students are required to log in to all campus computers.
- Computer facilities are for educational and research purposes only.
- Please do not play games or chat.
- If there are other students waiting to use a computer, please limit your session to 30 minutes.
- Rules for the computer commons are posted in the computer commons area.
- IVC also has a computer lab available to students in B354.

Printing:
All the computers in the library can print. Print cards cost $.35, and printing costs $0.10 per page for black and white, $0.75 for color. |
Copy Machines:
Copy machines are available on the first floor. The cost is $0.10 per page for the black and white and $0.75 for color. |
Children:
Children are welcome to visit the library, but do not leave them unattended. The library is not responsible for their safety. Unattended children under the age of 14 will be referred to Campus Police. |
School Supplies:
The library does not provide school supplies (pens, paper, white-out, etc.) to students. A hole-puncher, paper cutter and scissors are available near the stairs on the first floor. Pens, computer disks and other supplies are available in the vending machine near the computers. |
Study Rooms:
The library has eight study rooms available for groups of students to use. They may be reserved by tutors with our Learning Assistance Program. They are available to all others on a first come first served basis. |
Theft:
- Please watch your valuables. Do not leave books, purses, backpacks, or any other personal items unattended. They may be stolen.
- In order to prevent the theft of books and library materials, state law authorizes the detention for a reasonable period of any person using these facilities suspected of committing “library theft” (penal code section 490.5)

Other Rules:
In order to make your visit to the library more productive, please observe the following regulations:
- Turn off all phones and pagers.
- No food or drink in the building.
- If you must talk, please keep your voice down.
- When listening to headphones, please keep the volume down so you don’t disturb others.
