Free Tutoring at the Learning Center

Welcome to the Learning Center! It is our goal to help you make the most of your educational experience at Irvine Valley College. Please take advantage of our free tutoring services to all students, available in most subjects. Tutoring is available each semester and during summer sessions.

In order to schedule an appointment, you must submit a referral form signed by an instructor or counselor, along with a completed Tutor Request Form. These forms are available at the Learning Center or you may access the forms online here:

Next, you must obtain an APC code from the Learning Center and then register for TU 301, Supervised Tutoring (0 units, no fee) at the Admissions Desk or online. Submit a copy of your class schedule to the Learning Center. TU 301 is an open-entry/open-exit course.

A help desk assistant will schedule an appointment for you to meet with a tutor, according to your availability. Students are allowed one hour of tutoring per subject per week, not to exceed three hours.  EOPS and DSP & S students may be eligible for additional help. All tutoring sessions are conducted in the library study rooms.
