Irvine Valley women's basketball coach Julie Hanks announced that sophomore forward Jackie Fa'asamala is headed to Cal State San Bernardino.
Fa'asamala was a two-year player and started most of her sophomore season with the Lasers.
She played in 30 of the team's 31 games and averaged 5.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this past season.
Fa'asamala scored in double figures in eight games with a season-high 16 points in an early-season game against Los Angeles Southwest. She also had nine rebounds in that contest.
Fa'asamala had eight games with double figure rebounds and had 11 rebounds and 11 points in another Irvine Valley win over LA Southwest.
Her best game in Orange Empire Conference play came against Cypress when she finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists in a IVC victory.
Fa'asamala, who prepped at Oceanside High, helped Irvine Valley to an 18-13 record and a trip to the Southern California Regional Playoffs this past season.
Fa'asamala is joining a CS San Bernardino program that finished with a record of 9-14 overall and 8-14 in the CCAA last season.
