Irvine Valley's women's tennis team saw its record fall to 1-1 on the young season after a 7-2 loss to El Camino at home on Thursday.
The Lasers picked up just one win in singles and one in doubles.
IVC lost two sets in singles in three sets.
A bright spot for the Lasers was the play of sophomore Megan Miller at No. 1 singles. Miller won her second straight match to begin the year. She defeated Chie Young Shin, 6-1, 6-7, 10-6.
IVC sophomore Ivette Winder (No. 5 singles) and Sasha Hausmann (No. 6 singles) each played well, but lost tough three-set matches.
Winder fell 13-11 in a third-set super tiebreaker and Hausmann got beat 11-9 in a super tiebreaker.
In doubles, Irvine Valley's lone win came from the No. 1 team of Miller and freshman Alyssa Harper. The duo came out on top, 8-5.
Irvine Valley plays again next Tuesday, hosting Mt. San Antonio at 2 p.m.
