9/11 Commemoration Ceremony
at Irvine Valley College
Thursday, September 8, 2005 11:30 a.m. – Noon
| The Irvine Valley College community gathered to commemorate the lives lost during the attack on America on September 11, 2001, and to honor the sacrifices of our troops who have given their lives for our freedom. |
 |

Angie Kardashian |
Our special guest speaker was Angie Kardashian, “Chef Extraordinaire.” After 9/11, Angie was so moved by the devastation and the lost of life that she sold her restaurant of 22 years, Angie’s Cuisine Italiano in Tustin, and moved to New York to cook for firefighters. For two years, Angie went from one fire station to another and eventually cooked for 103 fire companies. In recognition of her efforts, she was named an Honorary Firefighter by the New York City Fire Department. |
| A brief ceremony was followed by a moment of silence and a wreath will be placed at the 9/11 Memorial Plaque. |

Wreath placement by Chancellor Raghu P. Mathur, Trustee Don Wagner, incoming IVC Foundation Chairman Carol Tagayun, ASIVC President Nina Nawabi, Trustee Nancy Padberg, SOCCCD Board President David Lang, Angie Kardashian, and IVC President Glenn R. Roquemore |
