Three kids from this year's Astounding Inventions appeared as guests on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 17th. Jay Leno introduced the segment by saying "Irvine Valley College" on national television!

  • Isabella Garcia (The Pet Pal), 4th grader at Arroyo Elementary in North Tustin
  • Evan Kim (Hair Today Gone Tomorrow), 5th grader at Santiago Hills Elementary in Irvine
  • Maria Webster (The Cat Police), 2nd grader at Springbrook Elementary in Irvine

Also appearing on the show was actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

The Astounding Inventions competition, now in its 23rd year, was conceived by Irvine Valley College in 1987 to promote creativity and interest in mathematics and science education among area students. This is Greenberg Traurig's fourth year as the title sponsor of this event, which was held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Irvine Valley College.
