Distance Education Faculty Co-Chair (2014-2015):

The DE Faculty Co-Chairs are members of the Distance Education Task Force (DETF).  I am co-chair the Technology Advisory Task Force (TATF).  The top DETF Priorities for 2014-2015 are:

Priority 1 : DE Faculty Manual 

Priority 2: Curriculum Review of DE/Hybrid course – The review, revision, or development of a separate curriculum approval process; this will be part of the Faculty Manual

Priority 3: IVC DE Strategic Plan

Academic Affairs Chair (2012-2014):

The Academic Affairs Chair position is a member of the Academic Senate Cabinet, which is composed of five faculty members. As Academic Affairs Chair, I am in charge of conducting bi-weekly Academic Affairs Committee meetings, leading discussions on issues dealing with Academic Policies. I am also in charge of Faculty Professional Development, which includes organizing Professional Development Activities and approving such requests to go to conferences, etc. I also organize the IVC Professional Development Week activities at the beginning of every semester, in addition to the semi-annual Student Success Summits, which highlight exceptional Student Success topics from our wonderful IVC or Saddleback College faculty. I am also in charge of the Distinguished Academic Lecture Series (DALS), which feature outside speakers on various topics to the IVC community. Similarly, I also manage the IVC2IVC lecture series, which are monthly lectures from IVC professors on topics of interest to the IVC community.
