Nov. 30: Lunch & Learn: Scholarship
Counselors presented a workshop on the scholarship application process and provided a list of scholarships for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, first-generation students, and STEM majors.
Oct. 29: PINOY PIYESTA
To celebrate Filipino American Heritage month, ELEVATE organized the PINOY PIYESTA event. The PIYESTA held health, community building, and cultural events.
Oct. 25: Larry Itliong Day / “Delano Manongs”
To raise awareness and celebrate Larry Itliong Day, ELEVATE AAPI hosted a viewing of the documentary, “The Delano Manongs,” the story of the Delano, Calif., grape strike of 1965, and the mobilization of the Filipino migrant farmers and their role in the development of Caesar Chavez’s United Farm Workers Union.
Oct. 20: Meet & Greet: Asian & Pacific Islanders
Administered and sponsored by the Office of Student Equity, ELEVATE AAPI participated in the API meet and greet.
Oct. 18: CAANAPI Opening

Sept. 2-30: OCAPICA Job Readiness Workshops
On Fridays during the month of September, students participated in eight free job readiness workshops. A certificate was awarded.
Aug. 8-10: Laser Week: M.O.I.M. Sessions
During our fall orientation week, ELEVATE AAPI hosted three separate sessions called “MOIM, Mentoring Our Incoming Members” to raise awareness of the program and to assist incoming students with their transition to IVC.
2016 SUMMER SESSIONS
June 20 - July 1: Math Summer Camp
In conjunction with math faculty and tutors, ELEVATE offered a Math Summer Camp to incoming students to refresh their math skills so that they could retest into a higher math course, if desired.
