The counseling faculty help students clarify their needs, make decisions, set goals, and deal effectively with personal obstacles. The relationship between student and counselor is confidential.
The following are some of the services available to students:
Educational Planning:
Program planning, selecting a major, evaluating transcripts, exploring transfer options and requirements, developing study skills, managing time, overcoming test anxiety; and petitioning for certificates and degrees.
Career Exploration:
Career planning courses, vocational testing, investigating career options, developing and implementing career goals, and job search training.
Personal Counseling:
Personal counseling includes help with relationship problems, interpersonal communication, self-awareness, stress management, behavior change, and referral to off-campus resources. Students may also receive psychological services in the Health and Wellness Center.
