Dean Shepherd holds an undergraduate degree in piano performance and an advanced degree in choral conducting from UCI. Mr. Shepherd has accompanied the Masterworks Chorale for many years, along with teaching piano and harmony on the Music Faculty. In addition, he conducts three choirs as Music Director at First Christian Church of Orange. Mr. Shepherd is also active as a freelance musician and composer. Recently, he has accompanied Metropolitan Opera star Deborah Voigt in concert, as well as Music Directing a vocal album for film star Christopher Lee which has been distributed internationally. Among his accomplishments, he has composed, directed and produced the album for his own musical, “Yellow Hair” (about General George Custer) starring Tony Award winners from Broadway’s “Les Miserables.”
