The program prepares students to enter management positions in the public and private sector in such areas as retail, wholesale, banking, import-export and government. Management students receive training, which enables them to lead, direct, plan, organize, and make critical managerial decisions. Because management training is widely applicable and knowledge of these principles is essential in any employment position, students in other programs would benefit from taking these courses.
Courses offered may be taken to satisfy the requirements for an associate degree or a certificate.

Career Options
Career opportunities for entry-level employees include management-training positions in financial institutions, small and medium-size retail and service companies, and other positions that allow for advancement for those with additional employment skills. The certificates and degrees in this discipline encompass a broad area of study, including computer operating systems, software applications, and networking and internetworking technologies. Courses are designed to prepare students for immediate employment, professional careers, and/or transfer. Students may take individual courses to gain expertise in specific areas, or may take courses to earn a Certificate of Proficiency (under 18 units), a Certificate of Achievement, (over 18 units) or an Associate of Science degree.
