Women's volleyball team takes on Fullerton tonight

The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team will look to improve its record to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the Orange Empire Conference when it hosts Fullerton tonight at 6 p.m. at IVC.
The Lasers defeated Riverside, 25-16, 24-26, 25-20, 25-20, last Friday in the conference opener on Dig Pink Volleyball Project Breast Cancer Awareness Night.
Irvine Valley was led by Katie Wilkerson. She finished with team highs in kills (18), digs (14) and aces (5).
Ellie Wiekmap paced IVC early on and finished with 17 kills. Hillary Crone (8 kills) and Caitlin Segert (6 kills) also contributed offensively for the Lasers.
Nicole May added nine digs and Allie Hammer had a season-high 48 assists to go along with five digs for Irvine Valley, which stayed unbeaten on the season at 5-0.
Wilkerson is averaging 4.07 kills per game on the season and Wiekamp is averaging 3.87 kills, Crone is hitting .387, May is averaging 3.12 digs and Hammer is averaging 11.59 assists per game.
Fullerton dropped its conference opener, losing to Cypress in four games, 27-29, 25-22, 25-21, 25-20, last Friday.
The Hornets have a record of 5-4 overall. They are led by Reilly Steven, who is averaging 4.1 kills per game.
Kelsey Stehle is averaging 3.73 digs per game and Kristin Neary is averaging 8.88 assists and hitting 1.000 (18 kills in 18 attempts).
IVC plays at Saddleback in another conference match on Friday at 6 p.m.
