The Lasers were in command throughout the match on Wednesday and only really threatened at the end of the third game.

A five-point run in the second game gave IVC game-point at 24-15 and three points later a service error by the Rustlers put Irvine Valley ahead two games to none.
Irvine Valley looked as if it would also have an easy time in game three, getting out to an 8-1 lead. Irvine Valley later led, 17-10, on a kill by freshman Nichole May and 19-13, on a kill by Guadagnini, but Golden West didn’t go away.
The Rustlers scored seven of the next eight points to tie the game at 20-20.
