Women's volleyball team breezes by San Diego City

The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team improved its record to 4-2 overall and bounced back from a tough four-game loss to Moorpark with a sweep of San Diego City Friday night at home.
The Lasers came out on top, 25-9, 25-18, 25-18, to hand San Diego City (3-1) its first loss of the season.
Freshman outside hitter Casey Williams led the way with 10 kills and three digs. She hit .529 on the night, making just one error in 17 attempts.
Sophomore Camryn Torromeo also had a solid performance. She finished with a season-high six kills to go along with five digs and a season-high six aces.
Coach Tom Pestolesi was able to use all 15 of his players in the match. Also contributing were freshmen Kesley Hall with four kills and Laney Titterud with three kills. Freshman Alyssa Swatek finished with a team-high six digs and freshmen Nichole May and Jamie Goto each added four digs.
Freshman setter Allie Hammer posted 26 assists and two aces.
The Lasers play again next Wednesday, hosting their alumni match at 6 p.m.
