Women's volleyball team falls in four to El Camino

The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team gave top-seeded El Camino a scare Saturday night in the second round/regional final of the Southern California Playoffs at El Camino.
The Lasers, who were seeded eighth, battled to take the first game.
But El Camino rallied and won the next three games to take the match, 31-33, 30-15, 30-23, 30-17.
El Camino improved its record to 24-1 on the season and move on to the state tournament this Friday in Fresno.
Irvine Valley, which finished fourth in the Orange Empire Conference and reached the playoffs for the eighth straight season, finished the year with a record of 13-10 overall.
El Camino, Orange Coast, San Diego Mesa and LA Pierce were the four teams from Southern California to win playoff matches on Saturday and move on to the state tournament. They will battle Sacramento City, Shasta, West Valley and San Joaquin Delta from Northern California in the event.
