The Irvine Valley College women's tennis team finished up play in the Orange Empire Conference Finals tournament last week.

Two Irvine Valley doubles teams qualified from the conference tournament to compete in the Southern California Regionals.

Irvine Valley's team of Andrea Nguyen and Sabrina Ho defeated a team from Riverside, 6-2, 6-3, in the round of 16 to qualify.

Nguyen and Ho eventually lost in the quarterfinals to Orange Coast's team of Emily Paulson and Rrachel Sessum in two tough sets, 7-5, 7-5.

Irvine Valley's team of Chizuru Seki and Leili Iranmanesh won its round of 16 match over Fullerton's top team of Angelica Ruvalcaba and Nina Rahimi , 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Seki and Iranmanesh lost to the Saddleback team of Breanna Stowell and Lauren Salgado, 6-2, 6-4. The Southern California Regional finals are next week.

This week several Irvine Valley players are competing in at the 105th Annual Ojai Valley Tournament. Play in Ojai gets underway on Thursday.
